Use of topic sentences, paragraphs, units, conventional rules of grammar, formal and precise vocabulary. Something cannot be changed once it is written. The writer and the reader do not have contact in time and space. Never repeat anybody else’s ideas or words without acknowledgment. It should be clear because immediate feedback is not possible. There is no room for fillers, repetitions and redundancy. Writing needs to be TAUGHT and LEARNT. Reading is possible at any time and any speed.
