Use of topic sentences, paragraphs, units, conventional rules of grammar, formal and precise vocabulary. The writer and the reader do not have contact in time and space. There is no room for fillers, repetitions and redundancy. The reader can go over it as many times as wanted. It should be clear because immediate feedback is not possible. Reading is possible at any time and any speed. Never repeat anybody else’s ideas or words without acknowledgment. Writing needs to be TAUGHT and LEARNT.
