The Hidden Key
Leo stood in front of the old , dusty attic door his heart raced with excitement . He had found a brass key in the garden but he did not know which lock it opened . He decided to explore the dark attic he believed it held the family secrets . He turned the key in the rusty lock the heavy wooden door creaked open . The room was dark Leo pulled a flashlight from his backpack to light the way . He walked past piles of old books broken furniture . He searched for an hour found nothing interesting at first . Suddenly , a strange glint caught his eye under a velvet blanket so he rushed over to inspect it . He pulled away the cloth discovered a beautiful , wooden treasure chest . He tried to lift the heavy lid it was completely stuck . He looked closer he thought there might be another hidden switch . He found a small wooden button on the side pressed it hard . The box clicked open so Leo peered inside with wide eyes . The chest did not contain gold it held something even better . Inside lay his grandfather ? s old pilot diary a pair of vintage aviator goggles . Leo smiled safely he knew he had just discovered the best adventure story ever written .
