O sangue em sai do ventrículo do coração , é bombeado para a artéria e distribuído por todo o organismo . Nos tecidos e órgãos , ocorrem as trocas celulares ( entrega de oxigénio e recolha de dióxido de ) . O sangue pobre em oxigénio regressa à direita do coração através das veias ( superior e inferior ) .

O sangue pobre em sai do ventrículo do coração , passa pela pulmonar e vai até aos pulmões . Nos pulmões , ocorre a ( troca gasosa ) , onde o sangue liberta dióxido de carbono e absorve oxigénio . O sangue já oxigenado regressa à esquerda do coração através das veias .
