Robberies are very serious crimes , but sometimes thieves make big mistakes that make people when they see the news . One famous story happened in Colombia , where three men decided to rob a local store in the middle of the night . Instead of using a fast car to get away , they stole a ten - year - old named Xavi to carry their stolen food , oil , and rum . However , the donkey did not want to help them , and it started making very loud near the shop . The loud braying woke up the , who quickly called the police , forcing the thieves to run away on foot and leave all the goods behind . Another funny news happened in Connecticut , where a man named Albert Bailey and a young helper planned to rob a bank . To save time and make sure the money was ready for them , Bailey actually the bank before he arrived to tell them he was coming to rob it . The bank workers were shocked , but they immediately called the police , who were at the building to arrest the men the moment they walked through the front doors . A third robbery went wrong in Chicago when an - year - old named Ruben Zarate tried to steal money from a local muffler shop . The store workers told him that they could not open the safe because the store manager knew the secret code , and the manager was not at work yet . Zarate decided he would come back later , so he wrote down his cell phone number and gave it to the workers so they could him when the manager arrived . Instead , the smart employees gave the phone number straight to the police officers , who helped the store a trap . When the police called Zarate to come back to the shop , he walked right into a surprise and was after a short fight .
