A serious fight happened at Flinders Street Station in Melbourne on night . Police said that up to 10 people were involved in the fight . Some of them carrying machetes , which are large knives . The fight started in the station's main at about 10 pm . After the fight began , some of the people got onto a train while still carrying the weapons . Police and Services Officers quickly arrived at the station to deal with the situation . During the , a 17 - year - old boy suffered cuts on his arm and was taken to hospital for . Police arrested six people . Four of them were found on a train , and two others were nearby . A 22 - year - old man was charged with several offences , including causing injury , fighting in public , assault with a weapon , and having a prohibited . He was later released on bail and will appear in court in November . Five teenagers aged between 13 and 16 were also arrested but were released without charges while police continue their . The fight caused problems for train services , and one train to Werribee was cancelled . Workers and passengers at the station said the event was . Some people said they no longer feel as safe in the city as they did in the past . They believe there has been an in youth crime and knife - related incidents .
