In Chinese , there is no need for an extra verb or article between subject and object . You can replace the subject with ? or ? to make ? ? ? ? or ? ? ? ? . Punctuation in Chinese is straightforward , and tone marks are not used in standard writing . Practicing these simple forms builds a solid foundation for more complex sentences .

In Mandarin , a basic sentence is built by linking a subject with a verb and a number plus a noun . For example , I have eyes - ? ? ( W ? y ? u ) ? ? ( li ? ng zh ? ) ? ? ( y ? nj ? ng ) . This simple template helps you describe quantities for objects , people , and body parts . By practicing , you learn where to place the number , the noun , and the verb , and you improve listening and speaking skills . With consistent effort , you can extend the pattern to express more complex ideas about belongings and characteristics .

In basic Chinese sentence , you can add adjectives before a noun to describe it more vividly . For example , I have two eyes that let me see clearly . You can also say a noise or a long leg .
