Sam is an immigrant student in Australia . He came to two years ago . At first , he did not know much about computers . In his home country , he did not use computers often . When he arrived in Australia , he found that computers were important for study and daily life . Sam enrolled at Swinburne TAFE and started English . His teachers often asked students to use computers to complete class work . Sam felt nervous because he did not know how to type or use many computer programs . He decided to learn step by step . First , he learned how to a computer on and off . Then he learned how to use a keyboard and a . After that , he practiced typing every day . His teacher showed him how to use email and how to for information on the internet . Sam also watched videos and practiced at the library . Slowly , he became more confident . He learned how to write documents , save , and join online classes . He also learned how to use learning websites to improve his English . Now Sam uses a computer every day . He writes , sends emails , and studies online . He feels proud because he has learned many new . He believes that computer skills will help him succeed in his studies and job in Australia .
