Durante el gobierno de Onganía ( 1966 - 1970 ) se impuso un clima de y social y cultural . El control de los limitó la información disponible para la población , y se cerraron radios y editoriales consideradas críticas . En las hubo , y vigilancia constante , lo que quebrantó la vida académica y la libertad de pensamiento . A nivel cultural , se promovió una oficial y se suprimieron expresiones contrarias , afectando revistas , teatros y conciertos . Estas medidas buscaban estabilizar el régimen pero debilitaron la democrática .

El Cordobazo y el fueron estallidos que representaron el rechazo a las del gobierno militar . y se unieron para reclamar en contra del , la represión y las medidas .
