Los textos se clasifican en varios tipos según su finalidad y estructura . Un texto cuenta hechos siguiendo una secuencia temporal y suele incluir personajes y giros que movilizan al lector . Un texto se centra en las características de un lugar , objeto o persona , usando detalles sensoriales . Un texto busca informar de forma clara y objetiva , presentando ideas , datos y ejemplos . Por último , un texto defiende una postura con argumentos y contraargumentos para persuadir al lector .

La compresión es la habilidad de entender un texto al leer . Consiste en identificar principales , distinguir detalles relevantes y deducir el significado de palabras desconocidas a partir del . Un buen lector resume lo leído al final y verifica si las ideas conectan con el objetivo del texto . También es útil cuestionar al : ¿ qué propósito tiene cada párrafo y qué evidencia se presenta ? Practicar la lectura constante mejora la memoria y acelera la rapidez para encontrar información .
