En sistemas mecánicos , la transmisión de giro se realiza mediante diferentes mecanismos que aprovechan la interacción entre componentes . Los permiten cambios de velocidad y par a través de dientes que encajan con un o una rueda dentada ; la convierte el giro en movimiento lineal . Las y cadenas transmiten potencia entre ejes separados , con ventajas en suavidad y reducción de vibraciones . El desacopla parcialmente el eje para iniciar o detener la transmisión , mientras que el permite alineación flexible sin pérdidas de torque .
