Rounders is a sport which ( play ) by people across the globe , but it is most popular in the UK . Adults sometimes play , but it mostly ( enjoy ) by schoolchildren . It is similar to baseball and each team has nine players . However , gloves ( not wear ) by the players , as in baseball , and the bat is shorter . Also , in rounders , the ball ( not throw ) overarm as in baseball , but underarm . Points ( score ) by hitting the ball and trying to run around the four bases which make up the diamond on the field . Rounders is not as popular as baseball and players ( not pay ) as much as baseball players . Of course , that doesn ? t mean schoolchildren don ? t have just as much fun playing it .
