Clasificación de las ED : las ecuaciones diferenciales se pueden clasificar según tres características : , y . Según el tipo una EDO puede ser ( EDO ) o ( EDP ) . Una EDO es aquella que solo contiene derivadas ordinarias ( derivadas de una o varias funciones de una sola variable independiente ) . Una EDP , en cambio , contiene derivadas parciales ( derivadas de una o varias funciones de dos o más variables independientes ) . El orden de una ecuación diferencial lo determina el de la más alta derivada presente en ella .
