The median (Q2) uses N/2 as the target cumulative frequency in grouped data.

In grouped data, Q1 is the 25th percentile estimated by interpolation within the class where 0.25N falls.

The percentile for grouped data ignores class widths.

To find quartiles you take the same class for Q1 and Q3.

The estimator formula is L + ((pN - cf)/f) × w, where L is lower boundary, cf is cumulative frequency before the class, f is class frequency, w is class width.

Q3 is the 75th percentile estimated by interpolation within its class.

Q1 is simply the lower class boundary, with no interpolation.

Q2 equals the mean of all data when data are grouped.
