Two years ago , my school held a special celebration for Independence Day . The celebration took place on August 17th . All the students and teachers red - and - white clothes . The school yard looked beautiful because we it with flags and colorful balloons .

In the morning , we had a flag ceremony . We stood in rows and to the principal's speech . After the ceremony , the teachers organized several traditional competitions .

I the cracker - eating competition with my classmates . We in front of the audience and tried to eat the crackers without using our hands . Everyone laughed when some students to eat their crackers . I didn't the competition , but I had a lot of fun .

After that , I joined the marble race . I feel nervous ? , I did . I carefully carried a marble with a spoon and walked as fast as I could . I the race in second place and received a small prize .

During lunch , I with my friends under a big tree . We about the competitions and took some pictures together . We go home immediately because the celebration was not finished .

Before going home , our teacher asked , " Did you the Independence Day celebration ? " We answered , " Yes , we did ! "

At the end of the day , I very happy . The Independence Day celebration gave me a chance to have fun , spend time with my friends , and enjoy the spirit of togetherness . I did not that wonderful day .
