Bandung Zoo , officially known Kebun Binatang Bandung or Bandung Garden , a wildlife conservation park educational attraction in the heart of Bandung , West Java , Indonesia . Situated adjacent to the historic Bandung Institute of Technology ( ITB ) campus , this 14 - hectare park one of the oldest zoos in Indonesia , having served as a popular green open space and recreational families since the colonial era .

Bandung Zoo a hybrid between a collection and a lush garden . The features dense , mature canopy trees ? such as rubber and pine trees ? that create a cool , shaded environment and visitors from the tropical heat . It houses hundreds of animal species , including native Indonesian Sumatran tigers , Bornean orangutans , Komodo dragons , and various tropical birds , along with exotic like giraffes , camels , hippopotamus , deer , zebra , leopard , cows , flamingo , rabbit , and elephants .

Beyond animal viewing enclosures , the park interactive programs , guided animal , theatrical animal shows . include a large lake with paddle boats , play zones , picnic areas under the forest canopy , and paved walking paths that make the zoo easily walkable for of all ages . If visitors want to buy , this park provides souvenir shop . Visitors can also have lunch together with their family because this park some restaurants and small cafe to buy food and drink .
