The Hare was in the lead, but the Tortoise wasn't going to give up and was trying his best. The Hare wondered how the Tortoise ever accomplished anything, because he moved so slow. The Tortoise was getting closer to the finish line and the Hare woke up. The Hare ran as fast as he could and tried to catch the Tortoise, but he was too late. The Tortoise had won the race! The day of the big race was finally here and the Hare was sure that he was going to win. They both took off running down the road. The Tortoise kept a steady pace, and the Hare was tired after eating so he decided to rest. The Tortoise went by and so the Hare sleeping on ground. The Hare took the lead again, but got hungry so he stopped to eat at a nearby garden. The Hare began to show off his moves, and the Tortoise took the lead.
