About this activity

El futbol, detalla la Federación Mexicana de Futbol, fue introducido a México a finales del siglo XIX con la llegada de grupos de ingleses para la asesoría en explotación de minas.

Para ellos, señalan, este deporte representaba el típico pasatiempo.

Quienes formaron el primer equipo fueron los trabajadores de la empresa Compañía Real de Monte de Pachuca, en el año de 1900. Sin embargo, tres años antes ya lo practicaban los alumnos de los colegios establecidos por hermanos maristas y jesuitas.
