TikTok wants to remain a fun app, and they admit that they blacklist political figures that cause negativity. Some feel Facebook and Twitter aren't doing enough to moderate content. What might TikTok's policies do for social media?

Explanation

If you're not at least 13 years old, you are using TikTok ILLEGALLY!

1 in 20 children who ADMITTED to connecting with a stranger, also admitted to being asked to strip on live stream, BY THAT STRANGER.

The parent company that owns TikTok is out of China, so U.S. lawmakers are afraid that the Chinese government will have access to U.S. user data.

ALL OF THE ABOVE, as long as the user puts in TRUE information when they create their account. This also includes any of this information that could be sensitive, such as pictures and videos that shouldn't have been taken in the first place!

Lawmakers are concerned that political content sensitive to China is being censored, while TikTok remains adamant that they are not censoring this information.

Would it be a bad thing if content on social media was mediated to alleviate the levels of hate spread so easily through this open door? Arguments could be made that there is a time and place for everything, but is social media, where people of all ages, races, religions, etc meet, really the place?
