The past tense if used to address action that have happened or existed before. For example, things that happened in March or in 2019 or even yesterday!

3

examples

Here are some examples:

  1. Yesterday, I went to Jumbo with my Mom.
  2. In March, we started going to school on Educaplay.
  3. In 2019, I was 9 years old.
Notice the verbs in bold are all in the past tense. Some, like started are regular verbs. Others, like was and went are irregular verbs because they don't follow the rule of just add -ed.
