Europeans expand territory in the Americas and begin to use slave labor for growing crops, especially tobacco. Governments and forms of society began to develop (nations are also created). Continental Drift. Pangea, a supercontinent in which all seven continents were close together existed. Christopher Columbus sets sail west and arrives in the Bahamas, believing he is in India. He tells stories of riches in the Americas. Nations trade goods such as textiles and spices, creating similar cultures. Early humans were nomadic (moved from place to place in search of food). Development of agriculture called for humans to stay in place so they can cultivate crops.
