ECUACIONES ENTERAS DE PRIMER GRADO CON UNA INCÓGNITA .

* IGUALDAD es la expresión de que dos cantidades o expresiones algebraicas tienen el mismo valor .

* ECUACIÓN es una en la que hay una o varias cantidades desconocidas llamadas y que solo se verifica o es verdadera para de las incógnitas .
Las se representan por las ultimas letras del alfabeto : x , y , z , u , v .
Así 5x + 2 = 17 es una , porque es una igualdad en la que hay una incógnita , la x , y esta igualdad sólo se verifica , o sea que sólo es verdadera , para el x = 3 . En efecto , si sustituimos la x por 3 , tenemos : ? 5 ( 3 ) + 2 = 17 , o sea : 17 = 17 .
Si damos a x un valor distinto de 3 , la igualdad no se o no es .

* MIEMBROS
Se llama de una ecuación o de una identidad a la expresión que está a la del signo de o identidad , y , a la expresión que está a la derecha .
Así , en la ecuación - - > 3x - 5 = 2x - 3 ; el primer miembro es 3x - 5 y el segundo miembro es 2x - 3 .

* TÉRMINOS son cada una de las cantidades que están conectadas con otra por el signo + o - , o a la cantidad que está sola en un miembro .
Así , en la ecuación - - > 3x - 5 = 2x - 3 ; los términos son 3x , - 5 , 2x y - 3 .
No deben confundirse los de una ecuación con los de la misma , error muy frecuente entre los alumnos .
