About the story

The book tells us the story of Gregor Samsa, an ordinary person who works to support his family and at the same time has his existential doubts, but this will change one simple morning.

3

Gregorio Samsa

Our friend Gregor Samsa is a 23 years old boy who is dedicated to the fabric trade.

His day-to-day life is always common and ordinary, that's why one afternoon tired of working he comes home and starts to think "if I were a bug, nothing would happen, my life would continue to be just as miserable“

Be careful we wish it Gregor . . !

4

The Next Morning…

SURPRISE!!!

Gregor has awakened in a very different way.

What he had thought the night before had come true, he had turned into a hideous 6-legged creature with a shell and antenna.

- Now what will you do Gregor? - HIDE MYSELF!!!
5

...

How has this happened? he thought while our friend hid.

His family couldn't see him like that, he couldn't go to work, and what would become of his life that he couldn't eat or walk like he did before.

Suddenly someone is about to enter his room, so he hid in the closet leaving it a little open to see.

Gregor Family

The first time Gregor's parents saw him, they did everything any human without animal consciousness would do, try to kill that huge critter with broomsticks.

It was his sister who saved him from dying at the hands of his parents.

And without a logical explanation of what had happened to their son, they began to accept it

7

Sister

After that, now his sister will take responsibility for him, she fed him and kept him company.

Gregor took the opportunity to tell him about everything he wanted to do if he were to be human again, including finding love, or at least telling him that he loves that person.

His sister was a good person, she was aware that before Gregor helped her to support her, so now it was her turn.

8

...

On the other hand, ungrateful parents began to hate their son, since he could not support them and now he would be a burden for the family.

They even wished him death in silence.

9

...

Gregor gradually became aware of all this.

He himself felt a weight for the family without importance, and now his only wish was to be human again.

All of this became very bad as the days went by ...

and with a last breath he said goodbye to life.

10

The end

When the family found the body of that dead insect, the parents were relieved, while their sister between tears was angry with their parents for the sameness they had when they enjoyed the death of their brother despite all the good he had done in lifetime.

Reflection

This book is a metaphor for life, which each reader gives a different meaning from their lived experiences, but it is believed that with this Kafka he wanted to try to give meaning to life.

“we are each our own devil and we make this world our hell” Oscar Wilde phrase, another great author of the time, we can conclude that each one of us is responsible for how we feel in life, that is why it is good to find a good sense of things, because there can always be someone who is in a situation worst.

- Or not Gregor?
