HISTORIA DE LOS ALGORITMOS GENÉTICOS

Las ideas de simulación computarizada de la Evolución comenzaron en 1954 con los trabajos de Nils Aall Barricelli en Princeton, New Jersey. Le siguieron en 1957 trabajos del geneticista Alex Fraser en simulación de selección artificial de organismos. Otros pioneros en este naciente campo fueron Hans Bremermann en 1960s, Riechard Friedberg, George Friedman y Michael Conrad. Complejos problemas de ingeniería fueron resueltos por Estrategias Evolutivas con las investigaciones de Ingo Rechenberg y Hans-Paul Schwefel en 1960s y 1970s. Lawrence J. Fogel propuso la técnica de programación evolucionaria. A principios de los 1970s los Algoritmos Genéticos empezaron a popularizarse con los trabajos del Dr. John Holland en la Universidad de Michigan, Estados Unidos de América. El trabajo fundamental en el campo de los algoritmos genéticos apareció en 1975, con la publicación de su libro ``Adaptación en Sistemas Naturales y Artificiales''. A finales de 1980s la General Electric principió a vender el primer producto de Algoritmo Genético para solucionar problemas de procesos industriales. En 1989 se creó el producto Evolver que fue el primer producto de Algoritmo Genético para Computadoras personales.
