  • Pertany al Barroc.
  • Compositor i violinista.
  • Amb 25 anys és ordenat sacerdot, l ’anomenaven el prete rosso (cura pèl roig) pel seu color de cabell. Degut al seva delicada salut ben aviat l’aparten de les seves funcions, patia asma des de ben jove.
  • Va compondre unes 770 obres, entre les quals hi ha 477 concerts i 46 òperes.
  • És un impulsor del concerto grosso (en plural concerti grossi)o forma musical que apareix al barroc, basada en l'alternança d'un petit grup solista (concertino) i un conjunt instrumental més ampli ( tutti).
  • Dos de les obres més representatives són: "Les quatre estacions" i "Concerto Grosso in D minor"

Concert:Les quatre Estacions

Les quatre estacions (Le quattro Stagioni en l'italià original) és un conjunt de 4 concerts per a violí del compositor barroc Antonio Vivaldi. Les va compondre el 1723, i és l'obra més coneguda de Vivaldi i, també, una de les més popularitzades de tota la música clàssica. Els concerts es publicaren el 1725 formant part d'un conjunt de dotze concerts. Cada concert segueix l'estructura de tres moviments, amb un moviment lent central (lento, adagio, largo), en mig de dos moviments ràpids (allegro, presto, etc.).

Aquest Concert forma part d'una col.lecció de 12 concerts escrits per Vivaldi al 1711. Aquests concerts van fer augmentar la seva reputació com Il Prete Rosso  ( el sacerdot pèl-roig )
