•Ubicación: Se ubica al suroeste del país.

 •Limita con: •Al norte con la Región Central •Al noroeste con la Región Huetar Atlántica •Al este y al sureste con Panáma •Al sur y al oeste con el Océano Pacífico

La conforman

•Esta conformada por seis cantones:  •Pérez Zeledón de la provincia de San José y Buenos Aires •Coto Brus •Osa •Corredores Golfito

Relieve

•Su relieve y clima es alto y montañoso de la Cordillera Talamanca, está conformado por:  • - El Valle del General  •La Fila Costeña •- La Planicie Costera. Se encuentra el Río Grande de Térraba, el más grande de Costa Rica, que lo conforma la union de los Rios General y Coto Brus.

Fauna

•Se ha descubierto que al este del parque se estableció un área de crianza de la ballena jorobada, que provienen tanto del hemisferio norte como del sur.
