Welcome to our lesson on time! In this slide, we will learn about:

  • What time is
  • Why we measure time
  • Different ways to tell time

What is a Clock?

A clock is a tool that helps us know the time. There are two main types of clocks:

  • Analog Clocks - with hands that move around a face
  • Digital Clocks - that show numbers

Reading an Analog Clock

To read an analog clock, follow these steps:

  1. Look at the hour hand (short hand)
  2. Look at the minute hand (long hand)
  3. Combine both to tell the time!

Understanding AM and PM

Time is divided into two parts:

  • AM - from midnight to noon
  • PM - from noon to midnight

Example: 8:00 AM is morning, while 8:00 PM is evening.

What is a Calendar?

A calendar helps us keep track of days, weeks, and months. Here’s what you can find on a calendar:

  • Days of the week
  • Months of the year
  • Holidays and special events
