Comparative form

Сравнительная форма используется для сравнения двух вещей. Она помогает нам описать различия в качестве, количестве или степени.

Formation of Comparatives

Чтобы сформировать сравнительную форму, мы добавляем er в конце кратких прилагательных. Например:

  • tall → taller
  • fast → faster

Irregular Comparatives

Some adjectives have irregular comparative forms that do not follow the standard rules. Here are a few:

  • good → better
  • bad → worse
  • far → farther/further

Using 'Than' in Comparatives

When making comparisons, we often use the word than. For example:

  • My brother is taller than me.
  • This book is more interesting than that one.
