EL JUEGO Y LA BELLEZA ESTAN EN EL ORIGEN DE UNA GRAN PARTE DE LA MATEMATICA, SI LOS MATEMATICOS DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS, SE LA HAN PASADO TAN BIEN JUGANDO Y HAN DISFRUTADO TANTO CONTEMPLANDO SU JUEGO Y SU CIENCIA, ¿PORQUE NO TRATAR DE  APRENDER LAS MATEMATICAS A TRAVES DEL JUEGO Y LA BELLEZA?                   MIGUEL DE GUZMAN

ES IMPORTANTE POTENCIAR LA REFLEXION DE LOS NIÑOS SOBRE LA ACTIVIDAD MANIPULATIVA QUE DESARROLLAN, PUES ESTA REFLEXION ES LA BASE PARA LA CONSTRUCCION DE SUS PROPIAS IDEAS MATEMATICAS.

EL DESARROLLO DE LAS MATEMATICAS HA SIDO PLENAMENTE DESARROLLADO CON EL JUEGO Y LA LUDICA, REALMENTE QUIENES HAN REALIZADO APORTES SIGNIFICATIVOS A ESTA CIENCIA HAN PASADO TIEMPO CREANDO Y PENSANDO EN LOS JUEGOS QUE ESTA AREA DEL SABER HA IDO GENERANDO: ACERTIJOS, PROBLEMAS INGENIOSOS, ROMPECABEZAS GEOMETRICOS Y LOS CUADRADOS MAGICOS; SON SOLO UNA PEQUEÑA MUESTRA DE QUE LAS MATEMATICAS SE HA DESARROLLADO PARALELA A LOS JUEGOS QUE ELLA MISMA VA GENERANDO.

EL JUEGO: UN ELEMENTO CENTRAL EN EL DESARROLLO COGNITIVO DEL NIÑO

EL JUEGO ES UNA ACTIVIDAD, ADEMAS DE PLACENTERA, NECESARIA PARA EL DESARROLLO COGNITIVO (INTELECTUAL) Y AFECTIVO (EMOCIONAL) DEL NIÑO, EL JUEGO ESPONTANEO Y LIBRE FAVORECE LA MADURACION Y EL PENSAMIENTO CREATIVO. LOS NIÑOS TIENEN POCAS OCASIONES PARA JUGAR LIBREMENTE. A VECES, CONSIDERAMOS QUE "JUGAR POR JUGAR" ES UNA PERDIDA DE TIEMPO Y QUE SERIA MAS RENTABLE APROVECHAR TODAS LAS OCASIONES PARA APRENDER ALGO UTIL, POR MEDIO DEL JUEGO, LOS NIÑOS EMPIEZAN A VER COMO FUNCIONAN LAS COSAS, LO QUE PUEDE O NO HACERSE CON ELLAS, DESCUBREN QUE EXISTEN REGLAS DE CAUSALIDAD, DE PROBABILIDAD Y DE CONDUCTA QUE DEBEN ACEPTARSE SI QUIEREN QUE LOS DEMAS JUEGUEN CON ELLOS.
