What is a Paragraph?

A paragraph is a group of sentences about one main idea.
It usually has 4 to 6 sentences.
All the sentences are connected and talk about the same topic.
📝 Example: A paragraph about my favorite animal 🐶 (not about animals, sports and food all together!)

Parts of a Paragraph

Topic Sentence
👉 Tells the main idea of the paragraph.

Supporting Sentences
👉 Give more information or examples.

Closing Sentence
👉 Finishes the paragraph. It can say your opinion or repeat the idea.

📚 Topic: My favorite hobby
🔹 Topic sentence: My favorite hobby is drawing.
🔹 Supporting sentence 1: I love drawing animals and cartoons.
🔹 Supporting sentence 2: I draw every weekend with my sister.
🔹 Closing sentence: Drawing makes me feel happy and relaxed.

Helpful Tips to Write a Paragraph

✏️ Think of one idea only
✏️ Use simple sentences
✏️ Check your grammar and spelling
✏️ Use connectors to join your sentences
✏️ Use capital letters and punctuation
