¿ Qué son las mariposas?

Las mariposas son insectos pertenecientes a la clase de los lepidópteros. En promedio viven 45 días, pero hay una que vive mucho más.

La que más tiempo vive

Es la mariposa que más tiempo vive. Puede vivir entre 6 a 9 meses. Es originaria de Canadá y en invierno baja hasta México. Es un largo viaje

Tipos de Mariposas

Hay dos tipos de mariposas, las diurnas y las nocturnas. En Colombia a las nocturnas las llamamos "CHAPOLAS".

Mariposa Nocturna

Increíblemente hay más mariposas nocturnas que diurnas. 
Por cada diurna, hay 12 nocturnas.

Cantidad de especies

En el mundo hay mas de 170.000 especies de mariposas. 

En Colombia tenemos mas de 3272 y somos el tercer país del mundo con más especies.

El primero es Brasil con 4.500 y el tercero es Perú con 3.400

¿Cómo nacen las Mariposas?

Las mariposas viven un proceso llamado METAMORFOSIS y es cuando la mariposa pasa de Oruga a Mariposa.
