¿Como se produce un rayo?

Para poder comprender le funcionamiento de un pararrayos,debemos preguntarnos ¿como se produce un rayo?

Durante una tormenta eléctrica dentro de las nubes se producen corrientes de aire que que generan el rozamiento de las partículas de hielo , las partículas mas pesadas toman carga negativa y se ubican en la zona inferior de la nube(la mas cercana al suelo) mientras las partículas livianas se sitúan en la zona superior con una carga positiva.Esto produce un campo eléctrico dentro de la nube que al fortalecerse logra unir ambos polos produciendo una corriente eléctrica que llamamos rayo.

¿como funciona el pararrayos?

Este funciona atrayendo al rayo que se esta produciendo en las nubes, tomando las cargas positivas de la tierra y llevándolas hacia el extremo del pararrayos así aumenta el campo eléctrico entre las nubes y el suelo haciendo que el rayo tenga mayor posibilidad de caer sobre el,luego el pararrayos toma esa carga y disipa llevándola a tierra.
