Introduction to the Water Cycle

QR

The water cycle is the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the Earth's surface. It is essential for maintaining life and regulating climate.

2

Evaporation

Evaporation occurs when the Sun heats water in rivers, lakes, and oceans, turning it into water vapor that rises into the air.

3

Condensation

Condensation happens when water vapor cools and forms tiny droplets, creating clouds in the sky.

4

Cloud Formation

Clouds are made up of tiny water droplets or ice crystals. They form when water vapor cools and condenses in the atmosphere.

5

Precipitation

Precipitation occurs when clouds become heavy with water, leading to rain, snow, sleet, or hail falling to the ground.

6

Collection of Water

Precipitated water collects in oceans, lakes, rivers, and also infiltrates into the ground to replenish groundwater.

7

Repeat of the Cycle

The water cycle is continuous. Water keeps moving through evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection.

8
