Adaptación: Cambio de color para camuflaje. Estímulo: Luz, temperatura o presencia de depredador. Receptor: Ojos y sensores en la piel. Respuesta: Cambia el color de su piel. Órgano/Sistema: Piel (cromatóforos), sistema nervioso.

Adaptación: Cuerpo aerodinámico y grasa corporal para nadar y resistir el frío. Estímulo: Temperatura del ambiente. Receptor: Piel. Respuesta: Aumenta la actividad o se agrupa con otros. Órgano/Sistema: Piel, sistema tegumentario y nervioso.

Adaptación: Rattles (sonajero) para advertir a los depredadores. Estímulo: Presencia de amenaza. Receptor: Vista y vibración en el suelo. Respuesta: Agita su cola con sonido. Órgano/Sistema: Músculos y sistema nervioso.
