How to create a Riddle

How can I create Riddles online?

To create your Riddle, simply provide a title to Ray, your AI riddle generator. Ray will create a riddle, its solution, and two hints about the subject you specify. You can review and make any changes before publishing. Ray can also create your game from a piece of text.

Alternatively, if you prefer to create the game manually, you can skip Ray and provide the custom riddle, the solution and the hints yourself.

How does the riddle maker present the enigma and its solution?

Players see an empty box for each letter of the solution, and they must fill them in correctly considering the title or the optional statement, which you can use to pose the riddle. The statement can have text, image, audio, video, or a combination of them.

If you've added hints, have a button they can use to "buy" them, in exchange for receiving fewer points for finding the solution. The button indicates the type of hint they can request and how many points it costs to request it.

What types of hints can I give?

Your players can "buy" three different types of hints, in addition to the statement they will see from the beginning.

One type of hint is the main image, crucial for solving the riddle. The image will be blurred with an effect, and as the player requests hints, this effect will gradually disappear until it is displayed clearly. If you want the image to be clearly displayed from the beginning, deactivate the 'Image hints' option.

Another type is Information hints. They are like the statement (text and/or multimedia), but in this case, the player does not see them from the start but requests them.

Finally, if 'Letter hints' is activated, the player can ask for help in revealing letters of the solution.

All three types of hints can coexist in the same game, accompanied or not by the statement. Before requesting each hint, players can see how many points it will cost them.

Do they lose points if they make a mistake with the solution?

No. When they fill in the boxes, the game automatically checks if the solution is correct. If it's not, it indicates the error and clears the letters, but they don't lose points. They only lose points by "buying" hints.

How to play a Riddle

How do I play a Riddle game?

Fill in the boxes with the letters of the solution by requesting the fewest hints possible. Once you fill in all the boxes, the game will check if the answer is correct, and if not, it will indicate the error and clear the letters.

Figure out the solution based on the title, statement, and the main image, if available. If you have the 'Hint' button in the top right corner, you can click it to "purchase" one. The button indicates the type of hint it is and how many points it costs to obtain it.

Depending on what the author has established, you may have image hints, information hints, and/or letter hints.

Information hints contain text and/or multimedia content, Image hints gradually remove the blurring effect from the main image, and Letter hints show you a letter of the solution.

To enlarge an image, simply tap on it.

Audios and videos will play automatically when the statement or Information hint loads. You can pause and resume them using the pause/play buttons.

How do I save my grade?

If you want to save your grade, identify yourself before playing. Tap/click on 'Press here to identify yourself' and enter a Nickname, an invitation code, or log in before starting.

You start with 0 points and can earn up to 100 points depending on the hints you purchase before typing in the correct solutions.

The hints have different prices depending on the type of hint it is, and on the types of hints coexisting in the game.

Do I have a limited number of mistakes?

If the 'Lives' option is activated, indeed you will have a fixed number of lives, and you will lose one life with each mistake.

The remaining number of lives will be displayed in the top left corner of the screen.

Do I have a time limit?

By default, there is no time limit, but the author can turn on the 'Time' option to set a maximum time to complete the game.
