Este metal fue trabajado por primera vez en el mundo por la cultura Tolita y Tumaco, y es muy difícil de fundir.

Pistas

Fue trabajado por las culturas prehispánicas en Ecuador y Colombia.

Su punto de fusión es muy alto, cerca de 1,772°C.

Se encuentra en la cordillera occidental y es raro en otros sitios.

No soy joya ni metal, vivo bajo el mar profundo, y fui símbolo ritual.

s un molusco bivalvo de aguas cálidas del Pacífico.

Asociado a la fertilidad, la lluvia y los entierros sagrados.

Su especie más usada fue la “prínceps”, recolectada por buceadores expertos.

Sin ser guerreros, cruzaban montañas, llevaban saberes y cosas extrañas.

Eran comerciantes prehispánicos y coloniales.

Transportaban productos exóticos y plantas sagradas como la coca.

Se les veía en rutas como Baeza–Papallacta.
