Unión a la Pasión de Cristo:

El enfermo se une de manera más íntima a la Pasión redentora de Jesús, lo que significa que su sufrimiento no es en vano, sino que tiene un valor salvífico y participativo en la obra de Cristo por la Iglesia.

Gracia consuelo Fortaleza y ánimo

Otorga una gracia especial que trae consuelo, paz y ánimo al enfermo para soportar cristianamente la enfermedad y la vejez. El dolor y el sufrimiento acompañan al hombre, pero su destino es la felicidad. Proporciona fortaleza espiritual para enfrentar la enfermedad y los momentos de fragilidad humana.
