What is a 2D Shape?

What is a 2D shape? A flat shape with length and width, not depth. It can be drawn on a sheet of paper.

Circles

Circles are round with no corners. They have a continuous curve and equal distance from the center to the edge.

Squares have four equal sides and four right angles. All corners look the same and lines meet at neat points.

Rectangles

Rectangles also have four sides, but opposite sides are equal. They have right angles like squares, yet not all sides are the same length.

Triangles have three sides and three corners. They come in many shapes and sizes, including equilateral, isosceles, and scalene.
