by Yuanisa Rifda
1

Descriptive Paragraph

A descriptive paragraph is a type of paragraph used to describe a person, place, object, or situation in detail and vividly, so that the reader can imagine what is being described as if they were seeing or feeling it directly.

2

Characteristic of Descriptive Paragraph

1. Contains many adjectives and verbs of senses (see, hear, smell, taste, feel).

2. Focuses on detailed explanations (color, shape, size, atmosphere, etc.).

3. Its purpose is to give a clear and lively picture to the reader.

3

Example

My classroom is bright and clean. There are colorful posters on the wall and a big whiteboard in front. The desks are neatly arranged, and the sunlight shines through the wide windows, making the room warm and cheerful.

An argumentative paragraph is a paragraph that aims to convince the reader about a certain opinion or viewpoint by using logical reasons, evidence, and examples.

5

Characteristic of Argumentative Paragraph
