Miré por un cristal pequeño, una corteza seca y sin color; vi como casitas, poco a poco, y les puse nombre con gran atención. ¿Quién soy?

Usó un microscopio para mirar cosas diminutas. Su apellido es como un objeto que se usa para colgar ropa (piensa en “gancho”). Fue quien llamó “cells” a las pequeñas cavidades que vio — palabra que hoy en español es “células”.
