Prietenul lui a fost ucis, Și-n el mânia s-a aprins. În luptă intră neîndurat, Pe Hector l-a răzbunat.

Frate de rege, mândru, aspru, Vrea mereu să fie primul în basm. Pe Ahile l-a jignit curat, Luându-i roaba ce-a câștigat. (Brisis)

Pe Elena o iubea, Și de dragul ei lupta. De la el, fratele său, Porni războiul cel troian.

Un rege blând și înțelept, De suferință-ntunecat. Și-n fața celui ce-i ucis fiul, Cu lacrimi cere trupul viu.

Prietenu-i credincios și bun, În armura lui s-a dus la drum. Dar Hector l-a răpus pe loc, Stârnind răzbunătorul foc.

Frumusețea-i, blestem și dar, A stârnit război amar. Pe Menelau l-a trădat, Când Paris i-a zâmbit curat. Iar dragostea lor, de zei croită, A fost pricină nefericită.

De pe Olimp privește rece, Soarta eroilor o petrece. Nici fiu, nici zeu nu-i schimbă dorul, Când el hotărăște viitorul.

Erou troian, drept și blând, Pe Ahile îl întâlnește în vânt. Lupta lor în poartă s-a frânt, Și trupul lui e tras pe câmp.

Soție iubitoare, credincioasă, Cu fiul mic plânge acasă. Îl roagă pe Hector să nu plece, Dar datoria-l cheamă rece.

El nu se laudă-n zadar, Ci pune gândul la hotar. Cu mintea lui s-a iscusit, Și planul calului-a izbit.
