مقدمة عن الزلازل

الزلازل هي اهتزازات مفاجئة في القشرة الأرضية نتيجة حركة الصخور وتراكم الضغط. تتفاوت شدتها وتواترها باختلاف المنطقة والنشاط الجيولوجي.

ما الزلازل وكيف تحدث؟

تحدث الزلازل عندما يتحرك صدعان في القشرة الأرضية وتفك الضغوط المخزنة فجأة، مسبباً موجات زلزالية تنتشر عبر الأرض.

أنواع الزلازل

تنقسم إلى زلزالات تكتونية نتيجة حركة الصفائح، وزلزالات بركانية تحدث قرب البراكين بسبب الحركة البركانية والغازات المندفعة.

الزلازل التكتونية

أشهر أنواع الزلازل، تنتج من اصطدام أو انزلاق صفائح الأرض. يمكن أن تكون بسيطة أو مدمرة حسب عمق المنشأ وشدة الإشعاع الزلزالي.

الزلازل البركانية

تحدث عند نشاط بركاني قرب سطح الأرض، وترافقها انفجارات وبرق ورغوة صخرية، وتؤثر محلياً على المناطق المحيطة بها.

يُستخدم مقياس ريختر لقياس شدة الزلزال بناءً على قوة الموجات الزلزالية المسجلة على الأجهزة.

مقياس ميركالي يقيِّم التأثير البشري والضرر على المبانى والبيئة، ليس كيميائياً كريختر ولكنه يركِّز على الأثر الميداني.

أثر الزلازل على المجتمع

تتسبب في خسائر بشرية ومادية ونزوح سكاني، وتؤثر في الخدمات الأساسية من كهرباء ومياه وطرق ومباني.

كيف تقاس الزلازل؟

تُقاس الزلازل بتسجيل موجاتها وتحديد عمق البؤرة، وتقدير شدة الاهتزاز، ثم تصنيفها حسب مدى تضررها.
