Teoría

Hoy aprenderemos un nuevo número muy importante en inglés: el 100 (one hundred)!


Hasta ahora hemos visto cómo se forman los números del 1 al 99 combinando las decenas (ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety) con las unidades (one, two, three…).


Ahora daremos un paso más para entender cómo se forman los números de tres cifras.

El número 100

En inglés se dice “one hundred” → cien.


Este número marca el inicio de una nueva familia de números: los hundreds (cientos).


Ejemplo:

• 100 → one hundred

• 101 → one hundred one

• 110 → one hundred ten

• 125 → one hundred twenty-five


Por ejemplo:

  • 123 = one hundred twenty-three




Nota: En el inglés británico se dice “and” después de “hundred”, mientras que en el inglés americano no se pronuncia ni se usa.


Por ejemplo:

  • 123 = one hundred and twenty-three
