The Sun is a middle-aged star at the center, providing light and heat that shape the orbits and climates of all surrounding worlds.

Eight planets orbit the Sun in distinct orbits, varying greatly in size, composition, and distance: from rocky Mercury to distant Neptune.

Inner vs Outer Planets

Inner planets are rocky and closer to the Sun; outer planets are gas or ice giants, far larger and with thick atmospheres.

Dwarf Planets

Besides eight planets, dwarf planets like Pluto exist, sharing similarities yet failing to clear their orbital paths.
