Soy chiquito y muy valiente, pienso rápido en mi mente. Si alguien quiere atraparme, yo sabré cómo engañarle. Con historias me cuido bien. ¿sabes ya quién puedo ser?

De color fuego y brillante, voy andando elegante. Soy astuto y cuidadoso, y en el bosque, muy curioso.

Me deslizo sin pies ni manos, entre hojas y entre llanos. Con mi lengua voy probando todo aquello por donde voy pasando. Si me escuchas siseando, ¿Qué animal estás pensando?

Dicen que en la sombra habita una bestia maldita: colmillos largos y duros, ojos grandes, ¡pocos seguros! Con verruga en la nariz y cuernos en la frente, su nombre asusta a todos y suena potente.

De noche abro mis ojos, redondos y brillantes, mi vuelo es silencioso y mis alas elegantes. Desde arriba observo todo, sin prisa y sin ruido… ¿Qué ave soy yo, que vela mientras tú estás dormido?
