Introducción

Las plantas pasan por un ciclo de vida que empieza con una semilla y termina con nuevas semillas, manteniendo el equilibrio de los ecosistemas. La semilla contiene el embrión y alimento. Requiere agua, oxígeno y una temperatura adecuada para empezar a germinar.

Germinación

La semilla absorbe agua, se rompe la cubierta y nace la radícula, la primera raíz que se dirige hacia abajo.

Plántula

La plántula emerge con los cotiledones, primeras hojas que realizan la fotosíntesis para crecer.

Desarrollo de hojas

A medida que crece, la planta desarrolla hojas más grandes, aumentando su capacidad para generar alimento mediante la fotosíntesis.

Brote de botones

Polinizadores o viento facilitan la unión de gametos; se producen frutos o semillas para dispersión futura.
