Introducción a los planetas

El sistema solar está formado por objetos que orbitan al Sol, entre ellos los planetas, que varían en tamaño, composición y distancia.

Planetas interiores

Planetas interiores son rocosos y cercanos al Sol: Mercurio, Venus, Tierra y Marte. Pequeños, densos, con superficies sólidas.

Mercurio

Mercurio es el planeta más cercano al Sol, sin atmósfera densa y con temperaturas extremas; tiene cráteres y un núcleo metálico.

Venus

Venus es similar en tamaño a la Tierra, pero con una atmósfera gruesa de dióxido de carbono y temperaturas superficiales extremadamente altas.

Tierra

Tierra es el único mundo conocido con vida; tiene agua líquida, atmósfera respirable y una superficie con montañas, valles y océanos.

Marte

Marte es el cuarto planeta, rojo por hierro oxidado; posee volcanes grandes, cañones y posibles indicios de agua pasada o presente.

Planetas exteriores

Júpiter y Saturno son gigantes gaseosos. Tienen múltiples lunas, grandes cinturones de nubes y anillos finos alrededor de Saturno.

Urano

Urano es un gigante helado inclinado; rota de lado y tiene un sistema de anillos y lunas, con temperaturas extremadamente frías.

Neptuno

Neptuno es similar a Urano, lejano y frío; vientos rápidos y una atmósfera de hidrógeno, helio y metano.
