Introduction

Let's look at everything related to photosynthesis, its explanation, and fundamental characteristics using a CLIL approach. We'll start with a question and key concepts.

Where does it occur?

Photosynthesis happens in leaves. Plant leaves carry out this process under daylight.

Step 1: sunlight

Sunlight is the energy that enters. The leaves capture it with chlorophyll, which gives them their green color.

Step 2: Water

Water comes from the roots and rises through the plant to fuel the chemical reactions.

Step 3: CO2

CO2 from the air enters through the leaves and is used in food production.

Chlorophyll and energy

Chlorophyll makes it green and captures light, facilitating the conversion of energy into sugars.

Glucose

Oxygen

As a byproduct, oxygen is released into the atmosphere through the leaves.
