I have x apples. When I put them into baskets of 7, there are 5 apples left over. If I instead use baskets of 6, I can fill exactly 2 baskets.

Hints

Set the two expressions for x equal and solve: 7q + 5 = 12.

The second condition means x equals 2 times 6.

Express the first condition as x = 7q + 5 for some integer q.
