What is a Triangle?

A triangle is a polygon with three sides and three angles. The three sides meet at three vertices to form a closed shape.

Triangles have three sides and three interior angles. The sum of the interior angles is always 180 degrees.

Types by Sides

By side lengths: Equilateral (all sides equal), Isosceles (two sides equal), and Scalene (no equal sides).

By angles: Acute (all angles < 90°), Right (one angle = 90°), and Obtuse (one angle > 90°).

Triangle Inequality

For any triangle, the sum of any two sides must be greater than the third side. This ensures a real triangle forms.
