The CPU is the brain of the computer. It executes instructions, performs calculations, and controls data flow. Key metrics include clock speed and core count.

RAM (Random Access Memory) stores active data for quick access. More RAM allows smoother multitasking, while insufficient RAM can slow down applications and systems.
